Importance of Career Mapping
Almost everyone has a goal or aspiration that he hopes for the future. For a significant number of people, this is a type of career or long-term job they would like to have. While these main objectives seem difficult or impossible to achieve, mapping a career makes them seem much easier to manage. The future can provide an extremely uncertain ride, but having a solid career plan in place can serve as a reliable roadmap to get you wherever you would like to go.
In any field or any scenario the most important aspect is planning, because if you are not planning then you are relying only on your luck and luck only favors those who make efforts. Even if you want to go on a vacation, you start preparing at least before a week as you want to enjoy your vacations, this also applies while forming a career, and if you want to be successful you have to make a proper plan to reach to your goal.
I want to share some data that I collected while addressing more than 6.5 lakhs students over 567+ seminars along with 8000+ personal counseling that 63% of the students don’t know the full form of the field they want to pursue, 71.1% of the students don’t know the exam pattern, it’s format, expected cut-off marks of the university they want to take admission in. Only 6% of students solve last five year question paper before giving exams. 79% of students don’t know primary information like author name, index format, study material of their academics. Even after admission 81.1% student fails to give basic information like full name of their college, number of teachers, classrooms, professors, assistant professors, library. Also only 28% know the placement process, job fair avg. package of their institute. The point I want to make is student without having basic information choose a field which is a result of poor career mapping.
One shall not choose a path on the bases of their financial stature, friends or family influence, trend/crowd and any other aspect other than their abilities. Students choosing wrong path ends up in depression or many even attempts suicide because of pressure and experiencing failure. You can avoid all this just by mapping your career according to your skills, interest, values and personality. Career mapping is not an easy task to complete but there are many assistance which can help you to choose the right path, career counsellors, DMIT test, Psychometric test, aptitude test, education fair, educational quiz, and many more.
After deciding your career or in other words your life for the next 45 years, you have to make a plan like which field, board, UG/PG, institute, entrance exam for that institute, which can be further bifurcated in yearly goal, quarterly goals, monthly goals, weekly goals and daily goals. After this time management has to be done on the bases of the importance of the chapter, time given to a specific chapter, time for other activities like sports, family, holidays etc. which can easily be done by Study planner. So, you should know what you are up to, how you are going to reach, do’s and don’ts, what will be your present and future steps. If you can achieve this then no objective is far from your reach, and you can surely live the life of your dreams.
